Dr. Gbemisola O. Boyede is a Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician that consults for Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos. She graduated from The University of Lagos College of Medicine with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 2002. While there, she received six distinctions, merit scholarship awards, and several academic prizes including the Provost Prize. She then had her residency training in pediatrics at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. In 2011, Dr. Boyede became a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Faculty of Paediatrics (FWACP(Paed)). She then earned a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Developmental Paediatrics from the University of Cape Town in 2015. And around the same time, she obtained a Subspecialty Fellowship in Developmental Paediatrics of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, FSDP(SA). She is actively involved in academic and clinical research and has several published papers in international journals. Her research interests include cognitive functioning in HIV-infected children, developmental assessments in resource-poor settings, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Cerebral Palsy. Dr. Boyede is also a member of various professional bodies and associations including the International Child Neurology Association (ICNA), African Child Neurology Association (ACNA), Child Neurology Society of Nigeria, and Paediatric Neurology and Developmental Association of Southern Africa (PANDA-SA).
