Dr. Olutunde Lalude is a Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 20 years of postgraduate experience. He is also the current Group Medical Director and Chief of Surgery of Reddington Hospital Group, Lagos, Nigeria. Dr. Lalude received his medical training in the UK and received two fellowships from the Royal College Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd, FRCSEd (Gen Surg). In 2004, he was appointed Consultant Colorectal, General, and Laparoscopic Surgeon of Princess Alexandra Hospital located in Harlow, Essex. Here he specialized in colorectal and general surgery with a particular focus on colorectal oncology. Besides laparoscopic, colorectal, and general surgery, Dr. Lalude also has extensive experience in gastrointestinal endoscopy. Leadership-wise, he has had several years of experience in positions like Clinical Director of Surgery, Head of Department of Surgery, Lead Clinician for Colorectal Surgery, and Colorectal Multidisciplinary Team Lead at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Essex. In 2006, his department at Princess Alexandra Hospital achieved the distinction of having the second-lowest hospital stay after bowel surgery in England due to using enhanced recovery techniques. Dr. Lalude has also been involved in medical education, training students from Barts and the London Medical School as well as higher surgical trainees from the London Deanery.
