Dr. Martin Tudu Mpe is a Cardiologist practicing at Mediclinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria and Netcare Pholoso Hospital in Limpopo.
He is also a session cardiologist and acting Head of Department (HOD) of the Heart Unit at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria. He earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree in 1991 from the Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA), now known as Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.
He then completed his Fellowship of the College of Physicians of South Africa (FCP (SA)) in 1999 and obtained his Master of Medicine (MMed) from MEDUNSA in 2000.
Dr. Mpe’s areas of expertise include interventional cardiology and heart failure. Now, aside from his practice, he is also a lecturer in the Department of Sports Medicine at the University of Pretoria, a visiting lecturer in the department of Sports Medicine at Wits University, an editorial board member of the Cardiovascular Journal of Africa, and an examiner in the Cardiology exit examinations for the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
Additionally, he is the President of the Heart Failure Society of South Africa (HeFSSA) and President and Advisory board member of the Southern African Hypertension Society (SAHS).
