Dr. Raina is a consultant surgeon at M.P. Shah Hospital who specialises in Minimal Access Surgery and Surgical Oncology.
He is currently the Head of Surgery at the hospital. Dr. Raina completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at a reputable institute in India then pursued his Master of Surgery in General Surgery still in India.
From there, he completed his Advanced Minimal Access Surgery training in North Carolina and attended a fellowship programme in Advance laparoscopy at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Raina has over 26 years of experience in the field of surgery. He has successfully performed advanced surgical operations both in India and Kenya.
Such procedures include the Whipple Procedure for pancreatic cancer, total pelvic exenteration for recurrent gynecologic cancers, transthoracic esophagectomy for cancer of the esophagus, and laparoscopic surgical procedures like laparoscopic hernia repair, laparoscopic colon resection, and laparoscopic adrenalectomy.
Dr. Raina is a recipient of the outstanding performance certificate from the Governor of Neyshabur for his service with the Ministry of Health and Curative Network in I.R of Iran.
He also received the “Recognition Award” for outstanding services by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh at I.H., Shimla. Some of his publications include Diabetes as a marker of Pancreatic Cancer World Cong. Dubai; Palliative Gastrectomy – its role in advanced Gastric cancer; and Typhoid perforations – surgical techniques / Prognostic factors – ASICON -91.
