Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is conducted to remove unwanted excess stubborn fat around areas of your concern that won’t go away with proper diet and exercise.

During the procedure, unwanted fat is suctioned out of different areas of your body by use of cannular. The procedure can be done either by traditional surgical procedure or laser assisted procedure.

Some of the common body areas where Liposuction is done includes Stomach, thighs, neck cheek or arms. In addition to that, it can be used in breast reduction to get the perfect breast size you want.

One of the major concerns of most patients who are looking forward to have it is whether the procedure is safe. There will be no patient who will be happy to pay lots of money to have the procedure done on his or her body and later have complications that will cost her more money to treat.

Before we look at safety, let’s first look at the risks and complications that are associated with having a lipo and how they can be addressed.

What are the risks of having liposuction?

Just like any surgery, liposuction comes with risks, complications and sideeffects. However, when performed by a properly trained surgeon in an AAAASF /Medicare approved facility, the risks involved are minimal.

Apart from the good side of view that is mostly advertised in TV, plastic surgeons websites and social media, there are complications that may arise during or after having liposuction.

Some of the risks involved include:

  • Dimpling and burning holes in the skin with permanent discoloration
  • Bleeding.
  • Infections
  • Contour irregularities
  • Raised or keloid scars
  • hematoma

Most patients look more at Liposuction cost rather than going for an experienced and well trained board certified plastic surgeon who knows what to do to minimize the risks.

Of course price is an important factor when it comes to having pocket friendly and affordable liposuction.

You can kill two birds using one stone by getting a well trained experienced plastic surgeon who offers quality job at an affordable cost.

Before opting to go for a liposuction or any other plastic surgery procedure, do some research on the doctor and the clinic?

Is It Worth It?

As we initially warned, liposuction isn’t a way, to lose weight. The model has some definite advantages but also comes with risks and complications you’ll need to be able to address.

The good news is that with some careful planning and consideration, most of these risks and complications can be resolved and need not prevent you from getting your desired body back.

Here are the advantages you will get from having liposuction with a qualified well trained plastic surgeon.

  • Minimal Risks and complications
  • Quick recovery period
  • Confidence in yourself after getting your desired body back.
  • Improved self esteem.

Discuss your goals with your surgeon to help determine which lipo procedure best suit your needs. Remember, liposuction is not a solution to your weight problem. If you want a permanent solution to your weight gain, eat healthy and do exercises to help cut your weight.
