It is extremely important for you to know what to expect if you are planning to have a baby after a tummy tuck.

Most surgeons recommends that you have a tummy tuck after you are done with having children.

However, some pregnancies may come unplanned or you may change your mind about having more kids after undergoing abdominoplasty.

According to Dr. Marco Faria Correa Plastic Surgery, pregnancy after tummy tuck is definitely safe for both mother and baby.

Having said that, let’s take a look at what happens when you get pregnant after a tummy tuck surgery.

What Will Happen to your tummy tuck?

You May have lose skin and Muscles.

During tummy tuck, the surgeon pulls the skin tight and tighten the muscles. Your tummy will look flat and the skin will look tight.

When you get pregnant and there is a growing baby, your skin and muscle will stretch out again.

You may have a lose skin and your muscles will be stretched out again. You just wont look as good as you were looking before you got pregnant.

You May Require to go for a tummy tuck revision.

Results for most women who become pregnant after a tummy tuck are not that much affected, however, there are some cases where women add a lot of weight.

In this case a tummy tuck revision may be needed to tighten lose skin and abdominal muscles stretch.

What if you need a C- Section after a tummy Tuck?

One major concern of every woman who has undergone a tummy tuck is giving birth through cesarean section.

There is no problem giving birth through C-section after a tummy tuck as the procedure used is just similar to the one which was used in the previous c-section.

The problem is, if your gynecologist doesn’t have the same skills of closing your new c-section incision as those of your plastic surgeon, you might end up having a bad scar.
